Supported browsers and extension permissions

Understand supported browsers, website access, private browsing, and managed browser policies.

Updated July 28, 2026

Moxby supports Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, and Chromium-based browsers that permit compatible extensions. Brave and Dia can generally use Chrome Web Store extensions, subject to their own store and security settings.

Why Moxby requests website access

A Mod needs permission to run on the website it changes. Moxby uses the listing or project configuration to describe where a capability can run. Review the requested websites before adding a Marketplace item.

You remain in control. You can disable a Mod, turn it off for a site, or remove it from Moxby.

Private browsing

Browsers usually keep extensions out of private windows unless you explicitly allow them. Moxby may also limit website coordination in private browsing. Check the extension settings for your browser if Moxby does not appear where expected.

Managed browsers

Company policies can block extension stores, installation, website access, or native app communication. If your browser is managed, ask the browser administrator to approve Moxby and the websites your team needs.
